Title: Developing a Model for Adaptive Ecosystem Management
Author: Dewhurst, S.M., * Covington, W.W., Wood, D.B.
Abstract: The intent of ecosystem management is to ensure that wildland management is adaptive to current and future knowledge and values. Ecosystem management has been proposed as a solution to many concerns facing public lands forestry today (Overbay 1992:Thomas 1994).Thought-provoking conceptual models abound (Hof and Joyce 1993: Driver et . al. 1993; Davis and Martell 1993) and new models and analytical tools will be available in the near future. But few of these models have been tested in real-world situations.
